Want to speak Spanish well? Stop making these 5 mistakes!
Do you know what are the most common mistakes in Spanish for foreigners that you should avoid? In this article I explain them to you.
Hello!
Today I want to review five mistakes you might be making when speaking Spanish.
Let’s get down to business!
1.ENCONTRAR/CONOCER
The verb “encontrar” in Spanish does NOT mean “conocer”. It is confusing because in English we use meet.
2. NUNCA «COMO ASÍ»
You should not translate literally, a native speaker will never say «como así», in Spanish we just say: así.
3. VERBO SER + BIEN ⛔
In Spanish, the adverb BIEN is never used with the verb SER.
4. ☝ARTÍCULOS INDEFINIDOS
In Spanish, unlike in many other languages, the indefinite article (un, unas, unos and unas) can never be used before the adjective “otro, otra, otros and otras”.
5. UN/UNA + PROFESIONES
We do not use the indefinite article (un, una, unos, unas) after the verb “ser” when we talk about nationality, religion, profession or occupation in general.
